a two-act musical in development by benjamin walton. this musical is based off the story of margaret dickson, a woman who survived being hanged after trialed for adultery in edinburgh in 1721. though that is only where the story starts.

anything but crazy: a song cycle
this song cycle about people living with mental illnesses was inspired by my undergraduate thesis where i analyzed four musicals in the american musical theatre canon that worked to destigmatize mental illnesses. it’s still currently in development.
